ABOUT US > Our Activities > Families

We provide support in the form of social work for all members of the family. Our goal is to prevent the removal of children from their homes and families. The development of parenting competencies for raising the child is one of our main activities. We improve communication and strengthen a healthy functioning of the family. We try to improve not only the children’s mental state, but also the mental well-being of all family members. For those children who are no longer allowed to stay with their families, we try to build strong, comprehensible, and safe relationship towards their relatives. We work either on an outpatient basis or directly with the family. We use a number of tools to help facilitate a sense of belonging (case management, empowering interviews, practical training for various situations, crisis intervention, tutoring, etc.). If necessary, we help look for suitable follow-up services. In particular cases we also offer various forms of psychotherapy (individual, couples, and family).

In 2013, seventeen families sought our help. On a long-term basis we have assisted ten families (including 12 women, 3 men, and 22 children), involving 132 counselling sessions and escorting clients to various offices and institutions on 67 occasions. Providing support for children within their natural family is the most basic preventative approach.
